KoA is more than a gaming guild. With a history that extends back to the earliest days of MMORPGs, we have evolved into an entity that transcends beyond efficient organizational mechanics. Above all, we value the long-term, quality relationships that develop from membership in KoA. Many of our current members were with us through several MMOs dating as far back as 1997 in Ultima Online. They have shared in the growth and successes to which we all contributed. “Loyalty, Integrity, and Friendship” is more than just a credo. For sure, we have our difficulties like any other group, but ultimately it is the group that comes first and we all as players benefit.
Our leadership has a proven track record for even-handed judgement and competence. Chapter Leaders are carefully chosen after significant levels of trust and remarkable leadership potential have been established. Each of our chapters benefits from the out of game infrastructure that assists KoA in outperforming most other guilds. Namely third party voice programs, forums, server hosts, website hosting and design, extensive contact information databases, etc.
Our membership is generally older and mature. We roughly guestimate our average player age to be in the mid to late 20s. Being vested themselves in the guild after years of building relationships and contributing to out of game expenses, lends to a greater sense of pride and belonging. For these reasons, KoA members tend to work hard at making us all successful in whatever games we play. They also take their relationships seriously. As in any relationship, communication is elemental. Thus, we demand that all of our members, new and old, actively participate on our forums and voice programs. I look forward to speaking with you all there!
Mission Statement:
The Knights of the Alliance (KoA) are committed to affecting the lives of our fellow players, particularly those of our guildmembers, in so that they may enjoy a superior gaming experience and exercise their personal freedoms without fear of hindrance, exploitation, or victimization.
Charter:
(KoA), The Knights of the Alliance, hold loyalty to the group and gaming excellence in highest regard. We want to be the strongest, most reknown guild in every game we play. The unifying philosophy is verbalized in the guild’s Mission Statement. The KoA believe that every player has a right to express himself/herself and to enjoy their gameplay in any way they wish so long as they do not maliciously impede upon the progress of others. Toward this end, the KoA will extend themselves fully and happily. In concrete terms, it is in supporting individual members with resources, companionship, information, and shared experiences that the KoA defines it’s purpose. The KoA will not hesitate to seek retribution upon a player{s} that attacks or threatens (by intent, by deed, or by word) any of it’s members. They will fight without forethought or remorse in defending the rights of their individual members.
The KoA endeavor to make the most profound, positive impact on every community we inhabit. We ever strive to increase our numbers and fame so that we may best make substantial contributions to our fellow gamers. We wish to make a lasting mark on the landscape and an eternal imprint on the global conscience so that others come to know KoA as a group dedicated to improving the gaming experience of our friends and ourselves. We lend aid when asked if the request be of noble nature. We aspire to be a significant force in shaping the lives of characters and players alike.
The KoA Guild as a whole is governed by its Administrators, Galahad and Ramsonne. Over the years they have appointed a select few into a backstage think-tank of guild Ancients who they rely upon for counsel in all things KoA. These are people who have demonstrated exceptional loyalty to the group as well as sound judgement. This group of Ancients offer opinions and support in the general management of the guild.
It is Galahad and Ramsonne who appoint a Chapter Leader to manage each gaming chapter under the KoA flag. Ultimately all decisions for each game are the responsibility of this office with the input and advice of the High Council. Each Chapter Leader will make their own decision as to if they rule by democratic vote, dictatorial rule, or any other means of policy making.
All members of each High Council (HC) are appointed by the Chapter Leader. They have a variety of duties assigned to various roles usually including but not limited to;
- Ambassador – oversees the people and activities involved in building relationships with other like-minded guilds. Communication with other guild officers ingame and via forums, negotiating alliances, and the like are their domain.
- Treasurer – responsible for collecting, tracking, and dispersing guild funds.
- Lead Recruiter – coordinates all efforts in the KoA application process from the time of initial application to attaining the ingame rank of Member. Posts recruiting notices on other sites.
- Commander – coordinates PvP activity for the KoA.
Under the direct supervision of the HC are a variety of Group Leaders and Assistants who … well, assist their respective Council members. These likewise are appointed by the Chapter Leader with input from the HC.
